The first transnational meeting of the PREP project took place in Saarbrücken, Germany, where partners from TU Dublin, Saarland University, UAB Learnkey, and European Strategy Consulting gathered to discuss the development of an entrepreneurship education course for prisoners. Throughout the meeting, the project partners engaged in in-depth discussions and presentations, drawing on insights from prison experts to inform their decision-making. These discussions focused on the development and refinement of the e-learning course content.
The extensive exchange of expertise and perspectives helped the project partners to create a joint mental model for the course, including its overall aims, structure, and content focus. Once again partners realized the complexity of the topic, emphasized the importance for a multi-perspective approach from different disciplines like sociology, psychology and business sciences.
One of the key goals of the course is to provide prisoners with the skills and knowledge necessary to start their own businesses upon release, with the hope of reducing recidivism and promoting successful reintegration into society. In order to achieve this, the project partners consulted with UAB Learnkey on how to develop e-learning methods that are both user-friendly and effective. These methods may include animations, quizzes, drag-and-drop exercises, and other interactive elements to ensure that prisoners have a enjoyable and engaging learning experience.
Overall, the meeting was a productive and collaborative effort, and the project partners are excited to continue working towards the main project outcome. In the coming month, they will be focused on developing a further strategy for moving forward until the next transnational meeting in Dublin.
